RT-PCR analysis for the expression of stress-related genes in the hippocampus. Hippocampal mRNA from different animal groups was used for RT-PCR using primers of 5-HT1AR (a), 5-HT1BR (b), CRF1 (c), glucocorticoid receptor (GR; d), and CRF2 (e). RT-PCR for actin mRNA was performed as a loading control. For all figures a through e, lane 1, CTL; lane 2, CRS; lane 3, CRS + 100 mg/kg SOCG; lane 4, CRS + 300 mg/kg SOCG. The ratio of band intensity of each mRNA to actin was shown by bar graphs (n = 4). *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 (One-way ANOVA, n = 4)
