Inhibition of LPS-induced production of Nitric Oxide by E. africana . The extract was prepared according to the protocol and added to cultured N9 cells together with LPS at 1 μg/ml. The plant extract was applied at final concentrations ranging from 0.05 to 50 μg/ml. Baicalin was used at 5 μg/ml. Following 24 h incubation, cell supernatant was collected and NO was quantified as described in Methods. * P < 0.05, **P < 0.01 and ***P < 0.001 compared to LPS treated group. ≠ indicate no significant difference between the control group and Ea50 treated group.
