  1. The relative intensity was determined by densitometry analysis of immunoreactive bands with a software. Control: without treatment, STZ streptozotocin, NDGA nordihydroguaiaretic acid, AE aqueous extract of L. divaricata, Px peroxidase, SOD superoxide dismutase. Results represent Mean ± SEM of three determinations made by duplicate. * P < 0.05, ** P < 0.01significantly differences between submandibulary glands from normal control and submandibulary glands from STZ- treated animals, # P < 0.05, ##P < 0.01 significantly differences between glands from STZ control and STZ + AE or NDGA treated glands in accordance with ANOVA+ Dunnett’s test.
