Glands were cut, fixed and stained with hematoxylin-eosin. Glands from a control animal (c), from a STZ-treated animal (d), from a STZ-treated animal + AE (e), from a STZ- treated animal + NDGA (f). AE: 500 μg/ml, NDGA: 1.5 μg/ml.
