Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity in hippocampal synaptosomes of the control group, dimethylmercury (MeHg)-treated group, Dendropanax morbifera leaf extract treated group with MeHg (MeHg+DML) and and galantamine (GAL) treated group with MeHg (MeHg+GAL). Hippocampal AChE activity is expressed in μmol acetylthiocholine iodide (AcSCh)/h/mg of protein (n = 5 per group; ap < 0.05, vs. control group; bp < MeHg-treated group). Values are mean ± standard error of the mean. Note that AChE activity in the MeHg group is significantly increased compared to that in the control group, while this effect is significantly ameliorated in the MeHg+DML and MeHg+GAL group
