Effects of budesonide and the herbal extracts on airway inflammation. The serum levels of IL-4 (a), IL-5 (b) and IgE (c) were assayed by ELISA. Lymphocytes (d) and eosinophils (e) were count on BLAF cytospin by Wright-Giemsa staining. The serum levels of IL-4, IL-5 and IgE and the number of lymphocytes and eosinophils in the OVA-induced asthmatic rats were significantly increased compared with those in the normal control group.
