The growth inhibitory properties of alkaloid extracts from C. zeyheri on Mycobacterium smegmatis. The broth microdilution method was used to determine growth inhibitory properties of extracts using a 96-well microtitre plate. A minimum inhibitory concentration of 125 μg/ml was observed and the optical densities of the wells were read using a microplate reader (Tecan Genios-Pro microplate reader, GrÖdig, Austria) at 590 nm.
