Polysaccharides extract from Anv strongly inhibits neutrophils response induced by phorbol myristate acetate (PMA) an activator of Protein Kinase C (PKC). Activation of PKC leads to specific phosporylation of p47phox and its translocation to plasma membrane to activate NADPH oxidase (NOX2) which produces ROS. Anv prevents this activation by inhibiting PKC and thus preventing p47phox phosphorylation and its translocation.
