Measurement of MMP in PC12 cells. Cells were incubated with 1.2 μM Aβ1–40 for 24 and 48 h and MMP changes were measured using FACScan flow cytometry. MMPs were then reduced by pretreating samples with 250 μg/mL HEPS followed by 1.2 μM Aβ1–40. RPMI-1640 complete medium containing 10 % horse serum and 5 % fetal bovine serum is indicated as N+.
