Effects of injectable preparations on apoptosis and necrosis of lymphocytes and DCs. After stimulation of lymphocytes (a) or DCs (b) with antihuman CD3/28 mAbs (each 10 ng/mL) or TNF-alpha, LPS and IL-1beta, respectively, in the presence of medium, camptothecin (100 μM), Triton X-100 (0.5 %) or different concentrations of Bryophyllum, Colchicum and Mandragora (all 1:300 (only in A); 1:100; 1:30; 1:10) or Rosmarinus (1:400 (only in A); 1:200; 1:100; 1:50). The cells were stained with annexin V and propidium iodide (PI) to assess the percentage of apoptotic (annexin V+/PI) and (annexin V+/PI+) or necrotic (annexin V/PI+) cells. The cells were analysed by flow cytometry. The results from two to three independent experiments are summarized, and data are presented as mean ± standard deviation (SD)
