Haelan-induced apoptosis in pancreatic carcinoma cell lines and fibroblasts. CAPAN-1 cells (a, b), BxPC-3 cells (c, d), AR42J cells (e, f) and fibroblasts (g, h) were grown on culture slides and treated with or without 8 % Haelan for 24 h. For apoptosis detection, the TUNEL assay was used. The light micrographs demonstrate that Haelan causes apoptosis in all cell types investigated when compared with the respective controls.
