Therapeutic effect of berberine on LT2-challenged Balb/c mice. n = 10 in each group. Each mouse was challenged with 7.6 × 10⁵ CFU LT2. Mice in berberine group was inoculated orally with 0.5 ml LB broth in the presence of berberine with different final concentrations (10, 20, 30, 40 mg/kg) for consecutive 7 days, whereas mice in control group was inoculated orally with 0.5 ml LB for consecutive 7 days. The survival was assessed every 24 h throughout the experiment.
