Effect of the SC extract on pro- inflammatory cytokines in LPS-stimulated BV- 2 microglia. Cells were pretreated with the indicated concentrations of SC for 1 h before LPS (100 ng/mL) treatment. After incubation with LPS for 6 h, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α (A) and interleukin (IL)-6 (B) mRNA levels were determined by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Data are mean ± standard error (n = 3) for three independent experiments. $p < 0.001, compared with control group; *p < 0.05 and ***p < 0.001 compared with LPS-treated group.
