Effect of clary sage on nitrite, eNOS and contraction of aortic rings in chronic immobilization stress induced rats. (A) Serum nitrite level was measured as a marker of endothelial dysfunction. (B) eNOS level was analyzed by western blotting, with GAPDH used as an internal control. (C) Vasorelaxation in response to 10 μM acetylcholine was assessed in aortic rings of rats treated with clary sage or vehicle following contractions induced by 10 μM norepinephrine.
