The axis on the left shows the MAE, the axis on the bottom shows the value of log (λ), and the vertical line on the left is located at the minimum cross validation error while the right vertical line is located at the maximum value of log (λ) within 1 standard error (S.E) of the minimum. The axis on the top represents the average cross-validated number of selected variables corresponding to log (λ).
