Effects of experimental diets on lipid peroxidation in colon after intestinal ischemia-reperfusion. The figure shows effects of billberry (B), chokeberry (Ar) and/or strain Lactobacillus plantarum HEAL19 (LplH19) administration on lipid peroxidation in colonic tissue. Significant decrease of lipid peroxidation (MDA) was observed in B-group (*p = 0.030), B+LplH19-group (*p = 0.021) and I/R-sham (*p = 0.014) compared to the I/R-control. A significantly lower MDA-value was also noted in B-group compared to Ar-group (#p = 0.016). Median values are indicated by the transverse line within the box and the top and bottom lines of each box represent the 25th and 75th percentiles.
